Artist's Description:
After many years of sketching and studying Jerusalem, I was motivated to create this work. Additional inspiration came from Tehillim (The book of Psalms). I have been drawn to this pasuk (verse) for a long time. I have included the Kotel (Western Wall), the Zion gate, the Sir Moses Montifiore Windmill and the Churvah Synagogue in the piece.
And now, a technical note about the completion of the piece. The work itself is a laser reproduction of an original hand executed papercut. The background paper is a giclee fine art print of a hand painted watercolor with pastels and inks. The English calligraphy and gold gouache are hand applied. The white paper containing the papercut is BFK Rieves. The deckled edges are hand finished.
